Filming of Free Guy begins with Ryan Reynolds, the most promising ‘video game’ movie

Among the many Fox projects that Disney has knocked down in recent weeks, Free Guy, the film directed by Shawn Levy and starring Ryan Reynolds, has been saved.

The proposal of this project promises to be something really interesting since it is not an adaptation of a video game, but an existing concept in video games such as NPCs or non-playable characters.

Free Guy twitter  tells the story of a lonely bank teller who discovers that he is actually a minor character in the open world video game Free City.

Joining the protagonist of Deadpool and Detective Pikachu will be Jodie Comer (“Killing Eve”), Lil Rel Howery (“Let Me Out”), Taika Waititi (“Avengers: Endgame”, “What We Do in the Shadows”), Joe Keery ( “Stranger Things”) and Utkarsh Ambudkar (“Mulán”).

The film will be released on July 3, 2020 and has all the ballots to be a reimagining of The Truman Show but using the language of video games, which makes us really happy.
